Laparoscopic Longitudinal Pancreaticojejunostomy for Chronic Pancreatitis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Chronic pancreatitis is characterized by severe abdominal pain and progressive insufficiency of pancreatic endocrine/exocrine function. Pancreatic ductal drainage is one of the most important factors for the management of chronic pancreatitis. A longitudinal pancreaticojejunostomy is a simple and radical surgical treatment for pancreatic ductal drainage. However, in recent years laparoscopic pancreatic procedures have developed rapidly, and reports concerning laparoscopic pancreatic resection including laparoscopic longitudinal pancreaticojejunostomy have increased in number. Nevertheless, the benefits of laparoscopic longitudinal pancreaticojejunostomy for chronic pancreatitis compared with conventional open surgery are unclear. In this review, we note that laparoscopic longitudinal pancreaticojejunostomy is a technically feasible, safe and effective surgical procedure in selected patients with chronic pancreatitis. Operative management of chronic pancreatitis in children.
HYPOTHESIS Chronic pancreatitis in childhood is a rare but potentially debilitating disorder, and failure of conservative therapy with chronic pain medication use is common. We hypothesize that aggressive surgical therapy may hold promise for long-term remission. DESIGN Retrospective analysis of data collected prospectively for 12 years. SETTING Tertiary care children's hospital. PATIENTS...

Acute obstructive suppurative pancreatic ductitis (AOSPD) is a rare complication of chronic pancreatitis that has been described in only seven previous case reports since 1995. We report a case of a 33-year-old female a known case of chronic pancreatitis with computed tomography suggestive of dilated main pancreatic duct with multiple calcifications. On exploration, pancreatic duct aspiration r...

Pancreatic diseases in the children include a wide spectrum such as acute pancreatitis, acute recurrent pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis (CP) and pancreatic disease without pancreatitis, and the management of these diseases are quite different from those in the adults. In this study we retrospectively analyzed the pathogenesis and management of CP in 12 Chinese children (7 male and 5 female, ...
متن کامل“SPLIT” Pancreaticojejunostomy in the Surgical Treatment of Chronic Pancreatitis
"Split" pancreaticojejunostomy is a procedure consisting of vertical transection of the pancreas and anastomosis of both sides of the cut pancreatic duct with an interposed, Roux-en-Y jejunal loop. In this paper we report the long term results of this procedure in the treatment of eight patients with chronic pancreatitis (CP).
متن کاملPancreaticojejunostomy For Severe Symptomatic Chronic Pancreatitis
The role of operation, particularly pancreaticojejunostomy, in the treatment of abdominal pain from chronic pancreatitis is controversial, but relief of pancreatic duct obstruction may decrease the rate of pancreatic organ failure. Our results over 6 years in 13 carefully selected patients suggest that pancreatic drainage does relieve pain but is less effective in preventing pancreatic exocrine...
